We left the car place and as it was already after 12 p.m we decided to head over to Ambience Mall to do a bit of shopping and pass the time until we needed to pick up the car. When we arrived at the mall, we had lunch and then took DJ to Fun City. Abigail had fallen asleep while we were eating so it was the perfect time for us to take him on the rides. Penri and I were taking it in turns to go with Dylan on each of the rides and we took a few photos. After Fun City, we went downstairs to the play area. And then … after the play area, Dylan had a ride on a remote control car (see photos below), which he absolutely loved!!!
Once we had finished all the playing for DJ, we walked through a big electronics shop and I had a go playing one of the electric pianos in there. The only reason I played was they had a guy working there who was playing the keyboard and he was terrible!! I sat down and started playing Bach. I was fine until I started attracting a crowd of people and then I started to get nervous. I played a couple of other pieces but I felt very unprepared and very out of practice so I told Pen I was done and off we went.
We moved from the electronics section into the home wares as I wanted to price up curtain rails. While we were in there Penri had a phone call from the shipping agent. Without going into too much detail, it seems our cargo will be delivered at the end of next week or the beginning of the week after. I have realised now that we will get it whenever we get it and there's not much more I can do to hurry things along. Penri has been on the case every single day since we got to India!
We left the mall at 4.40 after visiting a few shops and buying a few little bits from the car shop (sun screen things for the windows etc). We went back to the car showroom and waited as the car wasn't quite ready. When we were set to go they asked us if we could have a family photo of all of us in front of the car. We were presented with flowers and sent off by a crowd of people. Our driver, Tyagi, was also still there, he said he was going to follow us to make sure we got home ok; as it turned out, we followed him and neither of us was 100% sure of the way to go to get home. Penri was very comfortable behind the wheel and got straight into the swing of Indian driving, which is SO different to driving back home. Here's a picture of our new (very large) car …
We got in, changed, went for a swim and all went to bed exhausted after a very busy day.
