We went to Ambience Mall today … our usual Saturday thing! :) We left home late this morning though and actually got to the mall at about 12.15. We went to Big Bazaar first where Penri took DJ to get a hair cut and I took Abigail to do the food shopping. She had fallen asleep in the car on the way to Ambi and stayed asleep when I put her in the pushchair so I tried to whiz around the aisles as quickly as possible (before she woke up). Because DJ was with Penri and Abi was sleeping, I had no interruptions shopping so I was able to get it all done fairly quickly. My only disturbance was trying to get past people who just stood blocking the aisles! I had the pushchair and pulled a trolley behind me because I knew I needed quite a few big things and a lot of cleaning products which I didn't want to put in the front of the pushchair and actually wouldn't have had room to put them in there anyway!
As I was nearing the end of getting all our food things, I heard DJ say behind me 'There's mummy' and turned round to see DJ running up to me and Abi with Penri following closely behind. Penri hadn't had his hair cut as apparently the hair shaver broke while the guy was doing Dylan's hair! Penri said it was a nightmare and DJ cried most of the time. It didn't help that the guy faffed around for ages – moving DJ three times before even starting to cut his hair – by the time he started Dylan was already crying and had had enough! Anyway, he managed to get his hair cut so he now should be a lot cooler! He gets so hot with the weather here, but mostly it is his hair that gets really sweaty and I think it makes him hotter, so although I prefer it longer, it is better for him to have it shorter!
After Big Bazaar Pen took the shopping back to the car and I called at the butcher's to get some sausages for DJ and some ham for Pen. We had arranged to meet at the play area on the second floor and by the time I got up there with the two kids, P was already there waiting for me. Dylan went into the play area – he actually ran into it which is a really good sign and Penri and I went upstairs to get a drink. Abi had woken up at this point and we had moved her into the front of the pushchair to Dylan's seat. She prefers it because she can see so much more when she is in there and I would imagine it's a lot cooler than the seat behind.
After getting a drink we had a quick look in the Reliance Shop and then went back downstairs to see Dylan. He was fine and still playing happily. Pen stayed by the play area while I just ran into Mothercare to get Abigail some new babygros (onesies). She is outgrowing the 6-9 month ones that I bought her fairly recently and so I bought her some 9-12 month ones. Unfortunately they only had ones with short sleeves (no sleeveless) so I bought her what I could. After Mothercare I went to one other shop called 'That's Cute!' where I bought new play mats for the play room. They are bright colourful ones like the other ones we had but they have no push out letters or numbers and they are four times the size of the other ones. The other ones were so difficult to keep clean because whenever you lifted them to clean under them all the letters fell out and it was a real hassle! Also because there were so many of them it took forever! Anyway, I decided that I was going to get rid of the play mats a few days ago so when I cleared out the play room the other day, I bagged them all up into two huge bin bags. I put them outside the front door to ask that Raj Kumar take them down to the rubbish bins. As it turned out, he didn't need to because when I went out 10 minutes later to add a couple of letters to the bag, the two rubbish bags had gone! Someone had taken them! I don't mind because I wanted to get rid of them anyway and I would rather someone else make use of them. It just amazed me at how quickly they disappeared!
Anyway, I slightly went off at a tangent there. We left the mall and headed home at about 5 p.m. When we got back we went straight down to the pool. Alex and Isaac were there which was nice. We swam for about half an hour before Abi started to get restless and DJ was starting to act out a bit, so we came back home. I showered and got the children ready for bed and then gave DJ some dinner and put Abigail to bed, then afterwards I put Dylan to bed.
Sunday 5th September
Abi napped for longer than normal this morning so we didn't leave to go shopping till about 12.30. I had actually prepared lunch but not cooked it, but we decided as she had woken up, we would go out and I would cook the potatoes and vegetables for dinner instead.
We went to Sahara Mall because I wanted to go back to Lifestyle to buy another stool for Dylan (so he can reach the toilet/sink). Penri used the other one with a tablecloth on top as a tv stand last night so I needed to replace it. While we were in Lifestyle we also chose some new shoes for DJ. They are so cute! Little brown and orange sandals. Actually writing it like that makes them sound horrible, but they're not. Will be adding photos (hopefully tonight) on blog so you will see them.
After Lifestyle we walked around the other shops. It's only a very small mall and then we went to Pizza Hut for lunch. Did you know (well you probably didn't) … in Pizza Hut in India they have fish fingers and chips as one of the meal options?! I'm sure they don't have that in UK. Correct me if I am wrong. Anyway, we thought it would be nice for Dylan as he hasn't had fish fingers since we left England, but he didn't end up eating any of the fish. Abigail on the other hand, ate nearly a whole fish finger (minus the batter).
When we got home we were all really tired so Pen went and played his new cricket game on Xbox, DJ went and played with his cars and Abi and I went and played in the play room. We had a very chilled evening and then went to bed early.
