A very different day today than yesterday. We have literally been in, at home, the whole day! So we've played cars and trains, play dough, singing and dancing, coloured in … you name it, we've done it. There's really not much to write for today which is why I'm combining the post with Friday as I don't have anything else to say today!
Friday
This morning I got the kids up and washed and dressed as normal and we had a fairly relaxed morning. I couldn't get Abigail to sleep which I was anxious about as we had a busy afternoon planned – shopping!! I had arranged for Tyagi to pick us up at 12 – 12.15 and he was on time promptly at 12 p.m! I hadn't actually got Dylan dressed as the last few times we have ordered a taxi, it's been late, so I wasn't in any great rush. Anyway, when Tyagi phoned at 12 and said he was downstairs, I quickly dressed DJ and off we went. We first went to a mall called 'DLF City Centre' which I have been to a couple of times before but never really properly looked around. We went into a shop called 'Pluss' first, which specialises in larger size clothes. I had brought with me, a pair of Penri's work trousers in the hope of buying some more trousers for him. I was so thrilled! They had a great selection and I chose two really nice pairs of trousers for him. They even shortened them at no extra cost and within 20 minutes! Where can you get service like that in UK?!
We left that shop and went into 'Lifestyle' which is a great big shop with pretty much everything you could need – clothes, shoes, handbags, toys, baby stuff, kitchenware, curtains, bedding, household things – it's a brilliant shop! I managed to get DJ a new cap (as I have been looking for one for a while), a step for the toilet/sink, a few toys and that was all. I fed Abigail while DJ played in the play area (inside Lifestyle) and Abi fell asleep. So we then wandered around the small mall shops as I wanted to let Abigail get some sleep and knew that 9 times out of 10, when I lift her out the pushchair, she wakes up.
I went in a shop called 'Cotton World' and treated myself to two new tops. They had a huge sale on and most of the things I bought had between 30 and 50% off! I also bought my mum two tops and my sister one top! I did pretty well in there :)
We left the mall after being there about 2 hours and headed to Anokhi. That was the shop I went to on Tuesday but it was closed. Amazingly, Abi stayed asleep in the car on the way over to the other mall and then when we got there, I put her in the pushchair and she still stayed asleep. She must've been shattered!! I shopped in Anokhi for about 45 minutes. I managed to get myself a top in there and a couple of tops for my mum's friend Christine. They have some really beautiful clothes, but it is difficult shopping with a toddler as I was just making rash decisions in an effort to get finished quickly!
After leaving Anokhi we headed home. Both children (and I) were hot and tired and Abigail slept most of the way home too. The weather was starting to turn – the rain clouds were hovering and it was starting to get muggy! Luckily the journey home was fairly straight forward and we got back about 3.30 p.m.
We had a nice relaxing afternoon and I spoke to my mum and Aunty Vivian on Skype which was really lovely. It was so nice to catch up with them as it had been quite a while since we last spoke. I made DJ dinner and then we relaxed and played in the play room until bedtime.
