We were awake at about 7.30 this morning after a much better night. Abi still woke up but not like she has the last few nights. She was probably awake every 3 hours or so which is a big improvement! I felt great this morning – so much so that at about 9.30 when Abi went for a quick nap, Dylan and I baked brownies. It was lots of fun! Very messy … Dylan had chocolate all over his face, arms, tummy and legs! I'm happy I made him bake in just his pants! I had no idea how the brownies were going to turn out but I figured it would be fun for DJ regardless of how they tasted. Actually, Dylan doesn't like cakes really so it didn't make much difference.
At 11.30 ish Melinda arrived with Charlotte and Isabel for a play date. It's been such a long time since we saw them so it was really lovely to have them over. Charlotte and Dylan played so well together which was lovely; it was more on Charlotte's part than Dylan's put DJ did his part in sharing which was nice. They seemed to really enjoy themselves. About 10 minutes before they were due to leave, we went to sit in the living room because Isabel needed feeding. Within 5 minutes Dylan had caused CHAOS! He tipped the cheese squares all over the floor then while I was cleaning that up, he poured my drink into the bowl of crisps and then knocked Charlotte's ice lolly on the floor too! It was manic.
Melinda and family left at about 2 o'clock and DJ was SO tired that I put a nappy on him and let him get into bed. I thought if he needed to sleep, half an hour wouldn't hurt. As it turned out, neither of them slept! So, we had a very slow, quiet afternoon and just played in the playroom and didn't do anything much. We were all very tired!
At about 6 p.m Divya and Isaac came over and Dylan got this brand new wave of energy from somewhere! They played while I put Abigail to bed and then they left at about 7.30 and I put DJ to bed too. An exhausting but lovely day. Oh, and the brownies were delicious! They were gone within 24 hours!! :)
